Principal's Message

Welcome to El Monte! We believe that each child is a unique individual capable of significant academic achievement and deserving of a safe, friendly school environment. We have worked hard to develop a rigorous academic program that is creative, fun and rewarding and is inclusive so that all students can be successful learners. In today's changing times, we want to reiterate that our school is about learning, not politics. We welcome ALL students. Please read our Superintendent's message on the Mount Diablo website regarding our school board's recently adopted resolution. You can reach her message by clicking here

I invite families to join us in partnership throughout the year by volunteering, joining our PTA and Una Junta parents group, and School Site Council as well as attending our many events throughout the year.  Go Bulldogs!

Camp Loma Mar -5th Grade Outdoor Education

Our 5th graders have the opportunity to attend Outdoor Education at Camp Loma Mar on an annual basis. This is a life changing educational experience and we need your help to get there! If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, please send your check in to the office. We keep track of each student account. If students are unable to raise the money your donation will be returned to you.

We encourage families of non-5th graders to consider sponsoring a 5th grader and participating in fund raisers. We can all work together to make this amazing activity happen for our 5th graders.

Here’s our GoFundMe link for 5th grade camp:  https://www.gofundme.com/elmo-5th-graders-to-science-camp  Spread it far & wide via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, email, any way you communicate with people.

This year, our students will be attending camp 5 days from May 14-18. Please click on the below link for more information about Exploring New Horizons, our 5th grade camp.

El Monte is Famous!

Did you read about our very own Green Team in Permaculture magazine? No? Well, check it out!

Volunteers and Visitors

Visitor's must sign in at the office. A visitor’s pass will be issued. The volunteers working with students must be district fingerprinted and cleared to volunteer. Visitors need to return to the office to sign out.
In order to eliminate unnecessary classroom interruptions, we request that parents and other visitors leave messages, forgotten lunches, books, etc., in the office for their child. In this way, the teacher is given the article or message at his/her break time, rather than interrupting students precious learning time. We appreciate your cooperation.
